A serial entrepreneur known for his pioneering role in network marketing, Kenneth Brailsford has an industry background extending to the 1970s. As the “father of herbal encapsulation,” Kenneth Brailsford led Nature’s Sunshine for many years and developed a comprehensive line of quality herbal supplements.

Still a market leader, Nature’s Sunshine offers a host of targeted products, including Gastro Health Concentrate. The ingredients of the blended product include pau d’arco bark extract, capsicum fruit, and licorice root, which are proven to inhibit the growth and adhesion of detrimental microorganisms within the GI tract.

Known as a catalyst for a variety of herbs, capsicum (bell pepper) is within the nightshade family and has warming properties. Enhancing blood flow, it offers circulatory and digestive support, and is known for its effectiveness in treating the pain associated with shingles.

Beyond soft candy, licorice root has a prominent place in traditional Chinese medicine and has been used both to support glandular function and as a general tonic. It is associated with immune system balance and provides support to the liver. Its properties extend to soothing gastrointestinal issues and stomach ulcers, as it expedites stomach lining repair.

A serial entrepreneur with a background in network marketing extending four decades, Kenneth Brailsford is known as the “father of herbal encapsulation.” As the founder of Nature’s Sunshine, Kenneth Brailsford built a company that launched numerous herbal products and supplements, and is still known today for its market leadership.

Among Nature’s Sunshine’s gut-health-focused products are a full range of Nutribiome probiotics spanning acidophilus, bifidophilus, and bacillus coagulans. Effective against digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease, bacillus coagulans is also used to counter the effects of diarrhea.

The uses of bacillus coagulans extend to assisting the immune system and preventing the occurrence of respiratory infection. The culture also seems effective in helping prevent the development of some types of cancer.

A common misconception about the probiotic is that, because bacillus coagulans is a lactic acid producer, it belongs within the same classification as lactobacillus. A key distinction is that, unlike lactic acid bacteria such as bifidobacteria, bacillus coagulans forms “spore” reproductive structures.

Kenneth Brailsford has over 35 years of experience founding companies and building wealth. As a trailblazer in the network marketing industry, he serves as CEO of Zija International, which operates in more than 50 countries around the world.

There are a number reputable companies in the United States that adhere to the network marketing model. Many people gravitate to such opportunities because it provides them with a flexible part-time business. Network marketing is a form of direct selling where independent agents are a part of a network of distributors. To get started, most network marketing programs require a small initial investment to purchase products or a service to sell.

Multi-level marketing is a common type of network marketing where current distributors recruit new independent agents and are paid a percentage of the new recruits’ sales. Both new and experienced distributors continue to make money from direct sales as they recruit new agents and establish a “downline” of recruits to generate referral income.

A History of BYU’s Economics Department

Kenneth Brailsford serves as a general partner with KEB Enterprises, a venture capital and private equity firm that he founded. Kenneth Brailsford comes to his work leading companies like Nature’s Sunshine and Zija International after having completed a degree in economics from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Utah.

The Brigham Young Academy was founded by Karl G. Maeser, overseen by Brigham Young, in 1875. The first economics course was implemented in 1895, and the school’s first official department of economics came together in 1921.

In the 1950s and 1960s, school enrollment boomed with the end of World War II, and the department grew. However, certain problems arose that destabilized the school environment. Because of the sudden need for more classes and faculty hours to respond to demand, economics professors were spending much more time teaching than researching, which prevented them from advancing in their careers. Another issue was presented in the form of Ernest L. Wilkinson, a staunch conservative who feared that teaching standard economics topics would lead the students away from church principles. Several bright economics professors left in this uncomfortable environment where their research was not being supported.

In the 1970s, however, J. Fish Smith made a major donation to the department that allowed professors to teach less and research more. It also brought in renowned scholars like Nobel laureates Robert Fogel and James Buchanan. Since that time the department has continued to grow, with over 700 students majoring in economics at BYU today.

Having achieved recognition as the “Father of Herbal Encapsulation,” Kenneth Brailsford was a pioneer in the network marketing sphere and founded Nature’s Sunshine. The company Kenneth Brailsford led for many years still maintains a strong market presence and manufactures and distributes quality herbal supplements.

One popular Nature’s Sunshine product is the liquid Silver Shield Supplement, which utilizes nano-level silver particles. A proven antibacterial agent, silver can only be effectively absorbed in formulations of approximately 20 parts per million. Particularly in the winter, a teaspoon of colloidal and ionic silver helps enhance immune system function.

Posing no heavy metal contamination risks, silver-infused gel also has topical uses in purifying and cleansing the skin. It can be effectively used on topical wounds to reduce infection risks and boost healing. Among the microorganisms it works against are staph bacteria, E. coli, Candida albicans, and the fungal pathogen Aspergillus niger. Whether as a supplement or as an addition to the first aid kit, silver has essential health and skincare benefits.
